disclaimer: i followed a youtube video for this, and copied it almost exactly. i wanted to learn a bit about lmms functionality, since i’ve had little luck deciphering it on my own. considering i’ve physically AGED in the time between the creation of this site and this post, hopefully it’s better than nothing.

track is here.
some initial thoughts: not sure how i feel about the process. i’ve always known sound-creation to have a very tactile element, so in a lot of ways this was counter-intuitive. i’m still struggling to understand very basic functions, like how the piano roll corresponds to the beat+baseline editor and the song editor.
but even as a total beginner, i can see some of the appeal. transposition is made so incredibly easy. the software probably makes many things much more convenient, precise, and flexible (mostly still a mystery to me!).
going forward, i’d be interested in learning how to generate a more organic sound, maybe by tinkering with rhythms, volumes, and effects.
